kekīkaṇ¢hbhanīlaṁ suravaravilasadviprapdbjacihnaṁ śobhḍhyaṁ pītavastraṁ sarasijanayanaṁ sarvad suprasannaṁ, pṇau nrcacpaṁ kapinikarayutaṁ bandhun sevyamnaṁ naumīḍyaṁ jnakīśaṁ raghuvaramaniśaṁ puṣpakrµuḍharmam.1.

I unceasingly extol Ýr¶ Rma, the praiseworthy lord of S¶t (Janakas Daughter), the chief of Raghus line, possessed of a form greenish blue as the neck of a peacock and adorned with a print of the Brhma˜as lotus-footwhich testifies to His being the greatest of all godsrich in splendour, clad in yellow robes, lotus-eyed, ever-propitious, holding a bow and arrow in His hands, mounted on the aerial car named Puƒpaka, accompanied by a host of monkeys and waited upon by His own brother (Lakƒma˜a).
