mµudeu¡ nayana trasita jaba bhayaµu ¡ , puni citavata kosalapura gayaµu ¡ . mohi biloki rŒma musukŒhī¡, biha ¡sata turata gayau ¡ mukha mŒhī ¡.1. udara mŒjha sunu aṁḍaja rŒyŒ, dekheu¡ bahu brahmŒṁḍa nikŒyŒ. ati bicitra taha ¡ loka anekŒ, racanŒ adhika eka te ekŒ.2. ko¢inha caturŒnana gaurīsŒ, aganita uḍagana rabi rajanīsŒ. aganita lokapŒla jama kŒlŒ, aganita bhµudhara bhµumi bisŒlŒ.3. sŒgara sari sara bipina apŒrŒ, nŒnŒ bhŒ ¡ ti sṛṣ¢i bistŒrŒ. sura muni siddha nŒga nara kiṁnara, cŒri prakŒra jīva sacarŒcara.4.

In my terror I closed my eyes; and when I opened them again I found myself at Kosalapura (AyodhyŒ). Ýr¶ RŒma smiled to see me back; and even as He laughed I was 1034 * ÝR” RMACARITAMNASA* instantly driven into His mouth (throat). Listen, king of the birds: inside His belly I beheld multitudinous universes with many strange spheres each more wonderful than the rest, with myriads of BrahmŒs and Ýivas, countless stars, suns and moons, numberless LokapŒlas (guardians of spheres), Yamas (gods of punishment) and KŒlas (gods of death), innumerable mountains and vast terrestrial globes, oceans, rivers, lakes and forests without end and manifold other varieties of creation, with gods and sages, the Siddhas, NŒgas, human beings and Kinnaras and the four classes of living beings, both moving and motionless.
